DESCRIPTION:Kirtan:  Chanting from the Heart” with Christopher Kavi Carbone\nJoin us in welcoming Kavi as he shares an educational and experiential Kirtan session!  We will discuss the benefits of chanting and how to support students in finding a supportive chanting practice while participating in an immersive Kirtan experience.\n“Immersing ourselves in the present moment with melodic chant,\ndrawing from the yogic tradition of Kirtan,\nwhich includes sacred sounding, chanting and vibrational attunement,\nalong with chants from other Sacred / Bhakti streams\nto share in this uplifting practice, as a gift from the heart.”\nChristopher Kavi Carbone (E-RYT500, C-IAYT) has been leading Kirtan and chant events for over 20 years,\nbeginning with his time in New York City and the wonderful IYI there-and continuing onwards as yoga educator, yoga therapist, performing artist, and creative arts therapist.  Kavi, along with his wife Katherine, is co-founder and co-director of “Present Moment Arts Center” and”Arts-in-Celebration!”,  based in Newport, RI, offering programs in the creative & healing arts for individuals and groups of all ages.\nHe also serves as faculty for Salve Regina University’s Graduate Department of Counseling, Leadership and Expressive Arts,\nwith his work focusing on approaches to transformation and wellness through the arts.\n \n
