Sangha Circle–Yoga and Research

We are excited to welcome Sue Evans for our April Sangha Circle on Yoga and Research
There are many paths a certified Yoga Therapists can travel in their careers… learn a little more about what it would look like to combine Yoga and research!
Sue will facilitate a conversation answering some common questions:  How to get started? What does working in research look like?
You will also learn about the role of a Yoga teacher/therapist in human subject research – what is your role? How much time does it take? Can I teach what I want? What is a research protocol? The discussion will include an experiential portion of practice of a research protocol.
Sue Evans, MBA/MHA, C-IAYT, RYT500 has worked in an academic medical setting for almost 20 years prior to a career change into the yoga world where she has been able to blend the two into a unique way of serving as a yoga therapist. She works on federally funded research projects through the local university/medical school where she also teaches an undergraduate hatha/raja course and a weekly chair yoga class through the Comprehensive Cancer Center.  She has worked on projects with the Department of Neurology on a study teaching yoga to people living with Multiple Sclerosis and the Department of Public Health on several projects focused on reducing pain/fatigue for those with GI or GYN cancer, both during chemotherapy and virtually.
Join us to learn more about how you could get involved with human subject research arena and current yoga research.
