CENTERING
REVIEW
STRESS MANAGEMENT - had a good discussion regarding her daily stress and anxiety. We then discussed various tools we had worked with to support her during those difficult moments - ID'ing her current state with the Gunas, breathing to ground and connect with herslef, then choosing what's next.
ASANAS - client had been experiencing some back pain. Visited doctor and new PT. Explained that discomfort was caused by Psoas muscle. We talked about resting and listening to her body, then adjusted Asana practice accordingly. Basic warmups, followed by low lunges, supported Bridge, Wiper Blades, then Supta Padangusthasana with a strap. We briefly practiced each one so she could determine what brought relief. Low lunges and Wiper Blades seemed to help most.
PRANAYAMA - 3-Part Breath and Skull-Shining Breath
YOGA NIDRA

Client/Group progress summary

We're working well together. She's truly committed to her well-being and open to trying new things. I'm glad she shared with me about her anxiety - feel as though she's trusting me more by opening up re the myriad demands she faces daily.

Reflection and self-evaluation

I'm glad to be practicing listening. Learning to listen more and more and not having to try to fix everything. What a relief - I'm more present as well. I'm using my listening skills to paraphrase / reflect back to her what I'm hearing. I think doing so helps her feel heard and also clarify what she's thinking and sharing.
Glad to sense she's trusting me more.
I was also glad to see I could improvise based upon her sharing with me about her Psoas.

Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.
Plan for next session

Based upon her energy level and any pain / discomfort will offer a select set of Asanas to ensure she has an optimal and safe experience practicing within her appropriate range of movement.
More discussion regarding Stress Management - introduce visualizations. Will also introduce Pratipaksha Bhavana.
Introduce basic meditation as well - simple breath awareness.
