You are complete. There is no need to expect anything from yourself or criticize or judge or change anything about you. No need to compete with anyone, no need to be more than you are (or less than you are). –Deborah Adele

Ultimately we have just one moral duty;
to reclaim large areas of peace in ourselves,
more and more peace,
and to reflect it towards others.
And the more peace there is in us,
the more peace there will also be in our troubled world. –Etty Hillesum

Client/Group progress summary

Some balance issues today, complaints about the new summer schedule at the facility, many disparaging comments about chair yoga (“can we still come to class and do regular yoga?”). Most took the most extreme option in every case, except for a few, even though I demoed the “middle” option. Everyone got on the floor for seated postures near the end and for savasana. One stated she had been absent for illness and is all better now.

Reflection and self-evaluation

I reinforced sitting up on something, and several sat on a block or blanket. I’m thinking about bringing up the light, in light of the balance issues. It’s not dark, but it is fairly dim by request.

Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.
Plan for next session

Increase balance practices, focus more specifically on standing poses, since I’ll be starting a chair class option for Fridays this week. I suspect some folks will split off into the new group. If so, I’ll complete this group and focus on that one. Otherwise, similar sequence, continue the ahimsa reading/theme, and maybe turn the lights up.
