Activities

starting out with tea ceremony and checking in about last week, to see if there needed to be any adjustments made to the class.
Today we talked about the concept of aster, no stealing, talked about not stealing time from ourselves and others this resonated with the group, one member commented that she is constantly over scheduling herself, then she gets stressed sometimes needs to cancel and disappoint others.
We started out in mountain pose with centering because one of the group members was in a rajasic state and had trouble sitting down. For a description of the class see the documentation for S.K below.

Client/Group progress summary

S.K.
S: She came to class stating that she was stressed because she just got the result of her last MRI and the imaging was not good enough so she needs to repeat it and there was something on her liver, most likely a benign angioma, but she is still worried.

A: She was settling into class, her energy still seemed on the rajasic side, she is restless at times and needs to get out of the chair.

Reflection and self-evaluation

I feel positive about changing my plan for the class from sitting to standing this help the group member to settle down and have a positive experience during yoga class. The adjustment made from lying down during guided meditation to a reclined position with her head raised was positive for her she did not have the anxiety she noticed in the last class lying down.
I did get positive feedback about the breath assessment we made last session, one member said that during her MRI she counted her number of breath and it helped her to stay calm during the MRI are she had to lay very still.
Overall my experience is positive , I am enjoying to teach and to learn from my group members. The group has bounded very well together .

Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.
Plan for next session

Yogic teaching of brahmacharya = non excess
The group wants more repetition so I will not make much changes to my care plan, I will adjust as necessary.
