Home work given was alternate nostril breathing to balance her nervous system , improve focus , concentration and to improve vata.

Activities

Centering
Exploration of todays physical and emotional status.Client states that she does not have any issues physically but she is emotionally upset because in her team meeting yesterday she learned that a young colleague of hers committed suicide. She was upset that no-one in her team noticed any signs of depression even tight they are mental health providers .The families wish is that no one from the team comes to the funeral. She was also upset about the way her boss handled the situation and that no more additional support was offers to the team. She is starting to thing that she really wants to make a change in her profession maybe more towards private practice rather than working in the hospital.
Talked about satya truthfulness how it helps us to turn from the lies ( things that we tell ourselves) to expressing our uniqueness and authenticity. for example exploring what lys underneath the tings we tell us and why are we choosing to stay in a certain situation.
Started with Om, then eye movements, neck and shoulder rolls, chest openers combined with focus on breathing. From there going into standing , moon salutation, goddess pose, warrior one , forward bend, going onto the floor hamstring stenches with the help of blocks, cat cow and Childs pose.
Guided loving kindness medication, the teaching of alternate nostril breathing

Client/Group progress summary

K.P came to the session upset and wanted to talk about the suicide of her young colleague, I was able to hold the space for her and let her talk about her frustration at work her upset with her boss not provided adequate mentoring. She was interested in the concept of satya and we explored her sense of being in a ration in her live under the aspect of satya.
We continued with the practice of asana, I decided to change the sun salvation to the moon salutation to help calm the central nervous system and prepare the body for rest to calm the body down to help balance her state of vata.

Reflection and self-evaluation

I feel that I was able to hold the space for my client, she was appreciative of being able to talk and also to move into a calming practice to hep her with grounding.I thing the yogic concept of satya was helpful to her .She is a psychologist and very well versed in behavior modification but I thing she appreciates the yogic teachings as they provide a different angel of looking at things and sometimes a new approach. She states that she practice eye moments brought the week and she did make an effort of cutting down on her sugar intake and she felt that she had more energy during the last week.

Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.
Plan for next session

checking in about the events in her week , what she was able to practice and if she can tell a benefit.
