Homework assignment to client/group

Asked client to keep practicing 3 part breath. Take a breath, shake her arms and hands when she feels overwhelmed. Continue with daily cat/cow and child’s pose. I suggested last time getting her children involved. Showing her children how to do child’s pose. Wasn't able to yet because she was at the beach with family.

Activities

Grounding, centering, 3 part breath.
warm up- on back with somatic movements. slowly opening hips, activating pelvic floor, moving arms - all with breath

Mountain pose: full engagement of muscles. Starting with feet working up.

Bird/dog - slowly building to bird/dog crunches

Continue to strengthen and lengthen. Continue with Sun A, anjaneyasana.

Moved slowly today with longer holds. Client had a cold.

Continued with ahimsa: no harm with her thoughts of herself. Asked her to be kind to herself. Give herself grace. If her kids are crying. Take some deep breaths, recenter and then take care of her kids. Her kids will feel the difference as well. Know she's doing the best she can.

Client/Group progress summary

No tension this time during bird/dog, was able to progress to bird/dog crunches. Continued with strengthening and lengthening muscles/flexibility. Had client in an inversion (down dog) to help with her sinuses. It worked! Suggested FF with glutes against the wall if she has balance issues that day from her sinuses. Did not do any back bend will do next session.

Reflection and self-evaluation

Session went well. Client was very receptive. Didn't do any back bends as planned. Will try again next session

Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.
Plan for next session

Continue with 3 part breath. Continue to strengthen and lengthen. Will add some backbends: modified salabhasana - starting with lower body and then upper body. Slowly working our way to the full pose because I didn't incorporate it into this session.

Wisdom: Will ask her if she gave herself grace? How giving herself grace felt?
