Activities

Shared he had a consistent practice - asked if he wanted to guide me through what he does. (He previously practiced for years at YogaSource and modifies as he needs). We did two rounds of Sun Salutations, then low lunge with reaching back and pigeon. He stated he usually practices with his blocks as he has a leg length discrepancy.

He explored some supine stretches for his hamstring and reclining pigeon/figure 4. He paused, and had an emotional moment - apologizing and saying it was his "depression". Guided him through some heart breathing, some tensing and releasing, and shavasana.

Spoke with a nurse and got permission for him to keep a mat in his room. Also reminded him someone was available to practice with him every day Mon - Sat.

Client/Group progress summary

Abram - Shared he was struggling with anxiety and depression. Voice was quiet, masked expression on his face, felt I needed to really give him my presence and attention, and let him guide the practice today, offering him suggestions to add support and cue to notice breathing and sensations in the body.

Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.
