Homework assignment to client/group

She states that she stated doing the eye movements and the alternate nostril breathing more regularly. She has also worked on a few yoga poses she really enjoyed. She thinks that she is more and more in a transition at work ant if her boss does not appreciate her work, she wants to be able to let it go. Reflected on the fourth key"disregard the wicket".The same is true for her younger brother.

Activities

Started with checking about her past week. Talked about her desire to sing and discussed if chanting would be positive addition to her practice. She states that she would like me to help her design a brief personal practice that she would be able to do in the morning. She would like to start practicing on her own and then possibly to check in after one month with her to see if she is making progress.
Started the practice with 3 oms,
Hari Om chant
centering,
linear eye movements
head movements
shoulder movements
chest openers
sun salutation
cat cow on the floor
child pose, with flowing into cat cow with special focus on breathing.
sunbird
corps pose
chest to knee pose
lying twist
guided meditation
yogic seal

Client/Group progress summary

She is making good progress in her own practice. She talks about how she continues to struggle with her sugar intake but she has a raised awareness and she wants to continue to work on it .She plans to not eat sweets in the evening in front of the TV ,but she will still allow herself the occasional cake in the afternoon on the weekend. She will increase her activity by having a daily morning routine. She states that she will chant the Hari Om chant on her way to work. She will practice eye movements in between patient encounters.
She feels that she started to actively work on transition in her work and does not want to take it as serious. But of course still provide quality patient care. She wants to incorporate what she learned in yoga therapy in her work with her own patients.
I think she made good progress in our time together.

Reflection and self-evaluation

I feel that I was able to balance our practice well. I explored all aspects of yoga with her. I encouraged her connection with nature and to develop her own practice at home.
Time management was a challenge for me but I will continue to work on this by starting with centering and getting right into a breathing practice to have an easy transition into a physical practice.I will start out with a sentence like:"can you describe to me in a few words how your last week has been."
Also sometimes it is difficult for me to make the transition from an intellectual process to physical practice, to work with the body on balancing the energy and bring a balance to her nervous system.
I think I am able to reflex and change my own teaching and to be patient with myself.
I hope by bringing chanting into my clients life ,I have encouraged her to have more fun in her life again.

Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.
Plan for next session

We developed a yoga therapy practice she can practice in the morning by herself and she took notes for herself.
We will meet again in about one month to check in about her progress.
