How you have to be present (focus) breathe and start slowly with building new neural pathways. We don't ask our brains to move our toes and when we do, it's difficult. At the end, she moved the big toe. She was amazed that she wasn't able to do it but we spoke about consistency in practice and with consistency she will be able to move her toes on command. Also spoke about how consistency rewires our brains and develop new behaviors and habits. "Neurons that fire together, wire together" - Donald Hebb Worked on posture, continued with feet engagement. Warm ups: seated stretches Table top: cat/cows, cat/cows hip sways- dynamic movement with cat pose- Childs pose- cow pose - extend leg back-spoke about dialing down the hips to even out the hips, flex foot Bird dog, bird dog lifts 5x Child's pose Down dog - spoke about bending knees, sending chest closer to legs - keep sending tailbone up Standing: Hold plank pose cool down with strap, around foot, out to sides etc., supine twists Relaxation |
| Client/Group progress summary | Client is using yogi toes. Has hard time lifting arches. Hard to see if the client has any progress since she comes every 2 weeks. States she is moving more during the day at work. |
| Reflection and self-evaluation | Will show her the yogi foot handshake next time, if I see her again. Just found out she made another appt with another teacher. Have to let go of my ego, it happens. I know I did my best when we had met and that's all that I can do. |
| Final Client/Group Report | After seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake) Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report. |
