| Homework assignment to client/group | She already meditates and chants every day, I added balancing practice, heel drop, and muscle strengthening practice into her daily routine. |
| Activities | To begin the session, I asked Stephanie how she was feeling and if she had noticed any changes or challenges. She reported that it had been a bad week due to her SPS. She practiced every day but ROM is limited, she thinks We chant Hari Om together relax her mind and bring to the present moment. I led neck & shoulder stretch with slow breathing then. I explained today’s practice. I started with a body scan with visualization, visualizing that she was moving the part of her body freely. Then we moved to JAPA (joint movement) practice. To relax her body and mind, I invited her to 15 minutes of yoga nidra. I emphasized using a breath as pain management, repeating positive affirmations while she was in pain. And always she positive when you feel pain and frustration. |
| Client/Group progress summary | She reported that deep breathing is helping her to manage pain but sometimes she is overwhelmed by her condition and deep breathing. |
| Reflection and self-evaluation | She said she planned to visit her old friend for 2 weeks and say “goodbye” to this friend’s mother who is 95 y/o and ill. She also said they live upstate NY by Lake George. I think escaping from the heatwave and changing environment, in the company of long-time friend would improve her sense of connection and provide emotional support. |
| Final Client/Group Report | After seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake) Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report. |
| Plan for next session | I will continue next weeks body scan before joint movement because she feels better results. Also I plan to balance and strengthen muscles so that she is more comfortable visiting her friend in August. |
