Homework assignment to client/group

Work on her homework reading assignment from the Yoga Sutras given by Swami Karunananda for the TT. Client may contact me with questions or concerns about the reading.
Client may email or text me while at Yogaville if she needs support since she tends to get stressed and homesick when away for a while.
Use the time at Yogaville to completely clear soda from her diet.
We may have a yoga therapy session over Zoom if time allows while she is at Yogaville.

Activities

Discussed her preparation for the attending the upcoming Meditation TT at Yogaville, especially ways she can get her needs met regarding her medication, and modifications she will need for the hatha classes.
Reviewed the results from her Ayurveda dosha quiz: Pitta. Shared PP slides about ways to pacify Pitta, and slides about how each guna shows up mentally for Pitta, including ways to maintain a sattvic mind through her daily selfcare practices.
Asana: 2-minute standing routine of backbend, forward, and twist from SMTT
Pranayama: 3-part breath, kapalabhati, alternate-nostril breathing
Brief relaxation

Client/Group progress summary

Client is making good progress. She really enjoyed the information on Pitta dosha and could easily see how it applied to her. She is excited and extremely grateful for the opportunity to attend the training at Yogaville. She intends to use what she learns to continue improving her own health. She is more interested in that rather than trying to learn how to teach meditation to other people.

Reflection and self-evaluation

I enjoyed our discussion today! I'm genuinely happy for her regarding the training instead of feeling envious like when I first heard about it. I felt very relaxed and present today.

Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.
Plan for next session

Client will be at Yogaville beginning this Sunday and continuing for two weeks. We may have a session over Zoom while she is away, or we may wait until she returns. Either way, I will help her assess what she has learned and how best to incorporate it into her life.
Asana: chair yoga session; restorative backbend and twist
Pranayama: as needed
