Your care plan should be approved by your mentor, with any amendments they suggested, prior to your remaining Yoga Therapy sessions.

  • balanced pranayama considering contraindications, meditation/centering.
  • Please include at least one suggestion from Karma, Bhakti, Raja, or Jnana Yoga tailored for this client/group.

Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.

Adjustments and adaptations you made to your care plan,

Slowing down, repeating things to keep with her pace as she was very overwhelmed and/or depressed (depending on the day).

Client/Group Goals

Client/Group Goals: stand straighter, be physically stronger, feel better physically, successfully meditate and connect
Any progress towards goals
Review and revision of goals.
I think she did find some adapted ways to meditate that work for her. Whether she’s continuing them or not, I’ll find out when I see her again.
She’s definitely standing straighter, with conscious awareness, which means she could have been doing it all along.

Report briefly on each Kosha belowProgress toward wellness or worsening reported by the client/group or that you observed in the following areas
Physical level

Healed from cataract surgery. Observed standing straighter after awareness that it is possible.

Energetic level

Client went from sleeping a bit too much (for her) to running almost non-stop. (and canceling last session)

Emotional

Still very stressed. Now feeling more overwhelmed as the divorce gets closer and can no longer be avoided.

Intellectual / Sense of self

Finding her way back to single life, seeing the challenges and the possibilities.

Spiritual orientation and support plan

Says she knows her Higher Power is with her all the way.

Additional Information
Feedback received from client/group, anecdotal or written

Never replies to my emails, but says she filled out the feedback for the school. She always says how much she loves the sessions, and appreciates the opportunity to work on herself and get all these suggestions.

Sample of homework given between sessions (after initial homework)

Moving with prayer, or moving meditation. Releasing exercises/practices (such as shaking, sighing)

Personal reflection from doing client/group.
Rough estimate of time spent in preparation and follow up documentation per session30 minutes
What you would change with benefit of hindsight

I really needed to do more research on her conditions. Everything came so fast that I was trying to stay as consistent as possible with my groups and didn’t allocate enough time for my individuals.

Questions, problems, areas in which you’d like more support

This one was challenging due to all of the different conditions and my own fear of having her do something that might be dangerous or painful. I was probably too cautious. I still need to learn more about scoliosis and how to advise folks with certain conditions that I’m not too familiar with (besides to see their doctor or PT).

Did you enjoy your service?

Yes, although it was a bit heartbreaking to hear some of what she goes through.
