| Session Date | 07/14/2024 |
| Session Number | 1 |
| Total Session Minutes | 90 |
| Homework assignment to client/group | • Practice breath of Joy in the morning. |
| Activities | The client has a history of lower lumbar disk compression (bulging disk), now generally reduced flexibility, especially of the hips and knees. She has low energy and experiences fatigue. The session focuses on building strength and flexibility and addresses fatigue. |
| Client/Group progress summary | From PROMIS Global Health assessment, the scores for physical and mental health are fair. The client reports severe fatigue. Other aspects (general health, QOL, ability to carry out daily activities) are good. |
| Reflection and self-evaluation | The client does not have a lot of energy. I was going to include prank pose for building upper body strength, but after three rounds of sun salutation (with chair support, prank with chair on a chair), I felt that she had enough of upper body work. Therefore, we skip prank. I did not include fatigue assessment in this session but will use PROMIS_SF_v10_Fatigue_10a in session 2 to assess fatigue level. The client is motivated to feel better both physically and mentally; however, she tends to overexert herself and needs to remind herself to be gentle to the body (ahimsa) and not go beyond her energy limit (brahmacharya). |
| Final Client/Group Report | After seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake) Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report. |
