Tools from each module should be used (not on each client – but overall) |
| Session Date | 07/25/2024 |
| Session Number | 7 |
| Total Session Minutes | 90 |
| Homework assignment to client/group | Kirtan Kriya meditation, journal inquiry : reflect and revisit the inquiries, adding more as feels appropriate. Keep up PT exercises. |
| Activities | Arrive, center, ground, breath inquiry. Where am I holding, where might I soften? Joint freeing series, downward facing dog and plank at the wall, muscle release ball massage for upper back at the wall, supine awareness practice leading into 61 points guided relaxation with imagery of a safe, calm, nurturing place; Kirtan Kriya, journaling. Journaling using prompt. |
| Client/Group progress summary | The journal inquiry gave an opportunity for the client to share more about some body image and self-image influences from her youth and adulthood. This activity may be beneficial in her psychotherapy as well. She has made significant progress with the Kirtan Kriya from when first introduced to it, practicing together for five minutes today. Pain level=6. Fatigue level=5. |
| Reflection and self-evaluation | The client gains a sense of achievement by maintaining concentration while practicing the Kirtan Kriya. I am curious about the client’s pain and fatigue level self-evaluation numbers. From her descriptions and my impression, I would higher numbers to more accurately describe her symptoms. Something to inquire about next session. The practices thus far are beneficial to relieve stiffness and some of the resulting pain. Next steps will be incorporating pranayama more consistently in the sessions and building journaling consistency using prompts rather than a free writing technique. |
| Final Client/Group Report | After seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake) Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report. |
| Plan for next session | Same basic template, include her PT updog sequence as prior, practice Kirtan Kriya for a minute longer, allow more time for pranayama. Keep up Hatha yoga and PT exercises. |
