Homework assignment to client/group

- Practice Kirtan Kriya. You can alternate with DOSE or practice both.

- Read the article about the benefits of kirtan Kriya for your brain and well-being:
https://alzheimersprevention.org/research/kirtan-kriya-yoga-exercise/

- Observe your attachments. Generally, they appear in your meditation. Try to let them go and be in the present moment. Where your focus is, there is your energy.

Activities

Check-in
Discuss about:
Sahasrara chakra is blocked by ATTACHMENT. Unblock it with visualization, imagination, meditation
If we know we are the Atman, we are in everything and everything is in us, there is no attachment. But this can be a difficult concept. Then we can think that nothing we have in the material world can give us eternal happiness, so why be attached? Real Joy is met within us in every little breath we take.

We talked about the benefits of practicing Kirtan Kriya. (Sat Nam)
https://alzheimersprevention.org/research/kirtan-kriya-yoga-exercise/

Asanas:
Warm-ups, eye exercises
moon salutation and sun salutation
tadasana,
dancer with chair support,
child’s,
viparita with block,
supine twist and savasana.

Pranayama: alternate nostril breathing (mentally)
Meditation
Closing: talk about the whole experience. Did they notice any improvement?
They can do the test once more to check if there is any difference.

Client/Group progress summary

There were just 3 in the last session. They said they enjoyed the whole process and that they felt calmer.

Reflection and self-evaluation

In this session, we went over the time but they were very interested in the kirtan kriya meditation and stayed.
I know that even a little bit of this practice can help them manage stress. I hope they will continue with their yoga practice. It was not so fun for me because I didn’t feel they were as engaged as expected. But this is my lesson: detachment from expectations!:)

Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.
