Homework assignment to client/group

Homework: continue with engagement of mountain pose, W1 & W2, slow breaths in and out. Practice daily so the poses can become firmly grounded and rooted. Continue to be aware of posture

Activities

Grounding/Centering, breath work-breathing in and out for a count of 5, working to extended exhale

We spoke about tapas - the burning and discipline. Taking small steps towards your goal and cultivating a sense of self discipline. Holding the pose can be hard work but allowing the acceptance of those pains can lead to purification.

Seated Warm ups: shoulder rolls, neck stretch, wrist rolls, bouncy twists

Wall stand:
Posture:
Client against the wall, was able to observe client head, shoulder glutes against the wall, heels able to come against the wall. Having clients see how correct posture should feel and for me to assess clients as they walk and stand against the wall.
Cactus arms. Raise arms up and down.

Working on the mat:
Standing mountain pose with all muscle engagement. Hold mountain pose with muscle engagement, doing it 3x.. Start with 20 seconds and work to 30 seconds. Relaxing in between and checking in with them.

Warrior 1 and 2-all with muscle engagement and holding for 30+ seconds

Cool down:
shoulder stretching, wind relief, ran out of time so did a quick body scan relaxation

Client/Group progress summary

All had said they were sore after the first session but felt good. They were excited to get started again since we missed last week because of my vacation. They were all present and held each pose. I'm happy to see their progress.

Reflection and self-evaluation

I think I might have had vacation on the brain still. I felt I wasn't 100% there. But was more like 90%. The class went well, no one knew what I was feeling. Giving myself grace.

Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.
Plan for next session
