| Activities | This was the first session after the intake session 3 weeks ago. I led a few minutes of guided meditation to begin the session, then I explained the benefits of breathing practices, they can soothe the nervous system and help reduce the pain. I demonstrated alternate nostril breathing and bhramari breathing and asked her to join. Next, we moved to physical movements, I reassessed the ROM of arm/shoulders. She chose to practice on the chair. Then I invited her to 15 minutes of yoga nidra practice to relax to physical body and calm her mind. Then, I explained to her about home practice. In addition to physical movements, I suggested daily reading and writing because it would motivate her spiritual learning. |
| Client/Group progress summary | This was the first session and nothing to compare with. She is still experiencing neck pain, especially lateral flexing of her neck. She said despite the exercises provided by her PT, she feels pain when she moves her neck. |
| Reflection and self-evaluation | She looked good and seemed very interested in our session. I thought this interest might be due to her frustration with the pain, which has persisted for more than six months after the accident, and because physical therapy sessions did not work for her. Her pain may not go away quickly, but this plan addresses both physical and mental aspects of managing pain. I am hoping to see her improvement |
| Final Client/Group Report | After seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake) Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report. |
| Plan for next session | I will follow a care plan I created and encourage her to practice daily. I will follow up about the progress of her daily reading and reflection. |
