Homework assignment to client/group

Try giving her boss some compassion and not let her peace be disturbed. Continue with deep breathing and movement during work, cat/cow, seated cobra etc.

Activities

Grounding, stretching, warm up

Pranayama: Extended exhale. cat/cow, child’s pose, table top. Sun A, a gentle flow. Worked on strength. (strong body, strong mind) Bear pose - Plank - forearm plank. Supermans for backbend, cobra breathing. Finished with the strong goddess pose. Cool down, meta meditation for her boss, relaxation.

Discussion/Wisdom: I asked if she and her boss are getting along better. She said there’s still a struggle. I explained the 4 locks and keys, sutra 1.33. How when we encounter these people to treat friendliness toward the happy, compassion toward the unhappy, delight towards the virtuous and disregard toward the wicked. If we can remain calm and unaffected by them by using the 4 locks and keys, they are unable to disturb our peace. Perhaps, her boss is unhappy and see how treating her boss with compassion might work.

Stress management: I suggested trying to reframe her way of thinking. Her boss is probably unhappy with herself for whatever reason and therefore, whether intentional or not, it's affecting her. If she starts to treat her boss with compassion, things might change. Reframe what that her boss is trying to "get her" or disturb her peace and see that her boss is unhappy and treat her with compassion/kindness.

Client/Group progress summary

She wasn't able to journal too much but glad she was able to do some. Continue with current track on physical practice. I hope the 4 locks and keys will work for MS. It's not easy when your emotions are running high but with consistent practice, it might become easier for her.

Reflection and self-evaluation

I hope the 4 locks and keys will help MS see there is another way of not letting others disturb our peace. She's getting stronger, and her low back pain has been less.

Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.
Plan for next session

will continue with 4 locks and keys.
