Please include at least one suggestion from Karma, Bhakti, Raja, or Jnana Yoga tailored for this client/group.
Over time, we want to see something from each branch, selected, adapted and re-framed appropriately. Tools from each module should be used (not on each client/group – but overall)
The outline should show the sequence of practices as you plan to offer them. Your care plan proposal should be approved by the mentor before session 2 if possible, or 3 if approval is delayed by mentor.

Check-in with the client
We will talk about neuroplasticity, samskaras, and vasanas and how yoga creates space from dukha (which literally means obstruction but is translated as suffering) to sukha (which means unobstructed but is translated as happiness).
“Every time we react habitually to a given stimulus, we activate neural pathways and the brain regions housing those neurons. As the same areas are activated over time, they become thicker and denser, possibly because the associated neurons in that area branch out to make connections to other neurons, or increase the number of cells in those areas, or increase blood flow. The more these areas are activated in our day-to-day experience, the more we react habitually. This is akin to the yogic discussion of samskaras (latent mental impressions) and vasanas, the behavioral patterns arising from their activation.”Brain Plasticity and the Power of Affirmations” by Dearbhla Kelly

Client/Group progress summary
We talked about neuroplasticity and yoga and she is a postgraduate in neuroplasticity, so it was easy to discuss some concepts of samskaras and vasanas.
She said she talks to her shoulders and she asks them about her pain. They answer that she is carrying too much burden. She said to herself “You’re no Tequila, you don’t have to please everybody!” She is the oldest of three children and since she was three years old she has taken care of her siblings. Now she decided she is not going to do this anymore.
She admits she is grieving for one year but she will not allow it to stay.
Her mother died last year of an acute leukemia in 14 days.
She says to herself: “I am vibrant in my body, mind, and soul”. I told her that I was going to ask her to make an affirmation, but she already has one!
She feels pain when putting weight on her shoulders like in a tabletop pose. She is afraid of moving her shoulders too much because of pain.
Reflection and self-evaluation
I have planned the sun salutation and Japa, but it’s impossible to do both plus the other activities in an hour. I did just the joint freeing practice for the shoulders and neck as a warming up.
It was interesting how she is unfolding more layers of her issue. I told her that the heart, lungs, and shoulders are related to the Anahata or heart chakra and grief obstructs the energy there. She also had a physical heart obstruction, she has stents. She said she could see that all happened last year, it looked like it happened for her learning and changing the “tequila” pattern of her personality.
Final Client/Group Report
After seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.
