| Presenting Problem | loss of strength and flexibility, COPD, sleep apnea, she holds her breath often, knee arthritis, depression, anxiety, asthma, mild panic attacks, alcoholism (sober since 2012) |
| Physical | She has loss of strength and flexibility, COPD, sleep apnea, pre-diabetes and knee arthritis. I asked her to do some of the joint freeing movements to observe how she moves and she did all the movements on a chair. When standing she felt somewhat unbalanced. She had to hold the chair to lift one leg. |
| Client/Group goals | body strength and flexibility |
| Energetic | As a Kapha predominant (she had a diagnosis from an ayurvedic specialist), she moves slowly and with low energy. She sleeps at 1 am and wakes up at 10 am. Because of COPD, she walks up several times during her sleep. I suggested she could sleep earlier, because of Ayurvedic principles and she said she watches movies with her sister at night. We will come back later to this topic because I think the sleep routine can be very important to her. |
| Emotional | She has mild panic attacks when she is working. She works as a bookkeeper from home, 2-4 hours a day. She also said she has depression, anxiety, asthma, and alcoholism (sober since 2012) |
| Spiritual orientation and needs | She has a Christian background but considers herself spiritual rather than religious. She believes in God but struggles with Christianity. God is part of her everyday life. |
| Intellectual / Sense of self | She likes to talk with her sister, an English professor, and she has been reading a lot lately. She has been exploring Ayurveda. Most of the time she spends in thought, calm, curious thoughts, not positive or negative. |
| Yoga philosophy/wisdom research reference(s) | SAT CHIT ANANDA concept in the Upanishads. I used this during the assessment because it’s very healing to know one is not their body dis-eases, they are what is permanent behind those layers. And she said she can visualize herself as a healthy person, which is a step to a healthier life! |

| Final Client/Group Report | After seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake) Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report. |
