Homework assignment to client/group

Homework: Diaphragmatic breathing. Continue with engagement of muscles in mountain pose, W1, W2 & tree pose with slow breaths in and out. Holding for 30 sec +. Practice daily so the poses can become firmly grounded and rooted and thank our bodies everyday when we wake up. Continue to be aware of posture

Activities

Grounding/Centering, breath work - diaphragmatic breathing

We continued to work with tapas - the burning and discipline and I added gratitude. Gratitude for our body for getting into these poses and holding. Grateful that our bodies still function well with osteopenia. Gratitude for ourselves for taking care of our bodies.

Seated Warm ups: shoulder rolls, neck stretch, wrist rolls, side stretches, twists and bouncy twists

Wall stand:
Posture:
Client against the wall, was able to observe client head, shoulder glutes against the wall, heels able to come against the wall. Having clients see how correct posture should feel and for me to assess clients as they walk and stand against the wall.
Cactus arms. Raise arms up and down.

Working on the mat:
Standing mountain pose with all muscle engagement. Hold mountain pose with muscle engagement, doing it 3x.. Start with 20 seconds and work to 30 seconds. Relaxing in between and checking in with them.

Warrior 1 and 2-all with muscle engagement and holding for 30+ seconds

Tree pose-3 times for 30 seconds

Cool down:
supine twist, supine pigeon, relaxation meditation - relaxing each body part

Client/Group progress summary

DB, DM & CM - not present. DB-vacation, DM-hurt back, CM-hurt hip

GB-was the only one present. She did great, great focus. She has trouble with tree pose on left side because of her bunion surgery. She said her hip was a bit sore last week because of W2. Her hip is not use to adduction and abduction.

Reflection and self-evaluation

Although I didn't have a full class, it was great to work 1 on 1 with GB. I was able to really focus and pay attention to her.

Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.
Plan for next session

Continue with the pervious poses and adding on another pose.
