Activities

This report is for the sessions on 7/19 and 7/26.
7/19
I started the session by checking in with Reina to see if there were any changes physically and mentally. She is visiting her sister in Texas and reported that her anxiety began before this trip due to her sister’s husband’s health and behavior after his head injury. I explained the concept of 4 locks and keys to Reina, by understanding this teaching, she can interact with him better.

I led 3-parts breathing for a couple of minutes suggesting she place one hand on her belly and the other on her chest to calm her breath and relax her mind.
Then we began physical movements, neck/shoulder movement with eyes closed, also I introduced the supported fish pose using a prop which she enjoyed. Next 4 asanas on the mat child pose, supine butterfly, supine spinal twist and knee to chest pose. She likes these long-held poses, they are new to her.

To end the session, she enjoyed 15 minutes of guided final relaxation and brief meditation.

7/26

Today's session began with checking in with Reina to see if there were any challenges or changes physically and mentally. She is still staying with her sister in TX, other family members visited her. She reported her 1st week in TX was more anxious, but this week has calmed. She is enjoying her time with her family, and relaxing.

For physical practice, she enjoyed sun salutations and long-hold poses on the mat.
I led 15 minutes of yoga nidra to relax her physically and mentally and led a few minutes of alternate nostril breathing.

Client/Group progress summary

Her daily practice has shown her improvement physically and mentally.
Her original complaint of lower back pain is significantly reduced, and she is considering stopping seeing her PT.

Reflection and self-evaluation

Reina has been showing progress since I began the sessions with her. I think that her routine practice of yoga and other exercises is contributing to this success. For her care plan, adding seated postures improved both her IBS and LBP symptoms.

Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.
Plan for next session

I will continue to follow this care plan for the next several sessions. I will introduce new asana or wisdom teaching when I feel it’s appropriate.
