| Client/Group progress summary | Austin - calm, slightly tamasic both physically and mentally, excited as he said he’s going home today. Very engaged entire practice. Stated fell asleep for a minute in deep relaxation. Asked what was 1 thing from practice they can use, his answer: kapalabati - like an “engine reset” on a customized car. Priscilla - quiet, slightly tamasic. Very engaged in practice - laughed during Cat/Cow with sound, enjoyed kapalabati and Brahmari. Priscilla’s answer: deep breathing and Cat/Cow with sound. |
| Reflection and self-evaluation | I've found a routine for myself to prepare before class. I've found that investing the time to ground and center has allowed me to be more present with the participants. Also finding the balance during check in of allowing them to share so that they know they are heard and seen, without them getting caught up in the "stories," so to speak. Redirecting them back into their bodies. |
| Final Client/Group Report | After seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake) Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report. |
| Plan for next session | It is very hard to have a set plan as I never know if it will be the same participants or completely new ones. I try to assess the koshas at check in - if a lot of rajas, we'll ground and center, then do more chair supported and big movements to move the energy, transitioning to slower and seated postures, calming pranayama. |
