| Session Instructions (Not Mentoring) | Your session outline should be a practice adapted to the needs of that client, including:
Tools from each module should be used (not on each client – but overall) |
| Session Date | 08/06/2024 |
| Session Number | 3 |
| Total Session Minutes | 90 |
| Homework assignment to client/group | • Three-part breathing |
| Activities | The client has a history of lower lumbar disk compression (bulging disk), now generally reduced flexibility, especially of the hips and knees. She has low energy and experiences fatigue. The session focuses on grounding and building upper body and core strength. |
| Client/Group progress summary | The client has kept up with meditation, breathing practice and gentle stretch. She practices twice a day. When feeling overwhelmed, she pauses and does breathing and gentle stretch and finds that very helpful. She is self-conscious about her body; not as flexible and strong. I brought up contentment and accepting what is. |
| Reflection and self-evaluation | Based on the last session, downward dog was very challenging for the client. I introduced dynamic child-table-downward dog with breath. It seemed to work well. I add this exercise to the home practice (to increase upper body strength and mobility). I did not get to ‘Ha’ breath this time. I do not want to teach it after centering or after savasana because it will likely interrupt the calming energy. I do want to teach it to the client because it will be a useful tool for stress management and bring up energy when she is feeling tired/fatigue. Perhaps, I will teach this breath after warming up before sun salutation next time. |
| Final Client/Group Report | After seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake) Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report. |
| Plan for next session | Continue to work on improving mobility and strength (upper body and core). |
| Report briefly on each Kosha below | Progress toward wellness or worsening reported by the client/group or that you observed in the following areas |
| Additional Information | |
| Personal reflection from doing client/group. | |
| Notify Mentor? | Do not notify Mentor (choose if you wish to continue working on this entry later) |
