| Session Date | 08/09/2024 |

| Total Session Minutes | 90 |
| Homework assignment to client/group | Integrate mindfulness practice into daily activities, e.g., brushing teeth or washing dishes. |
| Activities | The client has arthritis of the right hip and osteoporosis of the femoral necks. |
| Client/Group progress summary | The client feels better, no pain. She played golf 3 days ago and was feeling okay (no discomfort or pain afterward). She is consistent with home practices, especially gentle yoga and breathing. She still works on including meditation in her daily practice. I add mindfulness practice (informal form of meditation) to the home assignment. She is dealing with an aging mother-in-law who has moved into a nursing home. This is her major cause of stress. I suggested that she take a slow deep breath or extended exhalation feeling stressed. For example, if travelling to the nursing home is stressful, she may want to do breathing practice on her way there. |
| Reflection and self-evaluation | I think that four-locks and keys would be helpful to her. I did not think about this when the client mentioned her mother-in-law. I will discuss this yoga wisdom in the next session. I taught chin mudra with palm facing down during meditation (instead of prana mudra as planned) to balance root chakra and maintain prana within the body. This is a simple, yet powerful mudra for meditation (Prana and Pranayama by Swami Niranjanananda Saraswati). |
| Final Client/Group Report | After seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake) Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report. |
| Plan for next session | Discuss four locks and keys. Continue to work on improving mobility and strength. Activities will include grounding asanas (standing poses, forwarded bend), deep relaxation, pranayama, alternate nostril, and Metta meditation. |
