Activities

Processed her time away at Yogaville for Meditation TT. It was a wonderful but grueling (as I'd cautioned her!) experience. Hatha classes were not as scary as she had feared since she was able to get into Hatha 1 classes and the teachers helped her with chair modifications (as I'd told her they would).
Discussed practicing tratak not only with a yantra/mandala but also with a candle flame or flowers.
Completed DASS-21 assessment: depression = 2, anxiety = 0, stress = 8 (all in the normal range)
Asana: chair backbend, forward bend, inversion, twist
Yoga nidra
Pranayama: alternate nostril; Siltali breath (to pacify Pitta dosha)

Client/Group progress summary

Client is doing very well. As expected, she has had some trouble re-integrating into her normal daily life after two weeks at Yogaville. I helped her understand how common this is for people - so no worries.
Results of DASS - 21 were excellent. She has made so much progress!
She is okay with the fact that our sessions together will be ending at the end of this month. We will stay in contact via email and/or texting. She may connect with one of the swamis or ministers at Yogaville for more consistent counseling and spiritual guidance.

Reflection and self-evaluation

I enjoyed this session with the client. It was wonderful to hear about how much she has learned and how she is integrating the learning into her life. She sees how the Meditation TT is more about herself than about what she might teach others as a creative writing and expressive arts teacher. She continues to grow as a deeply spiritual human being.

Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.
Plan for next session

She will take my chair yoga at the gym next Friday, then we will do her session in the empty studio at the gym.
Asana: review how to do chair sun salutations standing (I don't do these in my gym classes)
Pranayama: sitali, alternate nostril
Yoga nidra
