| Session Instructions (Not Mentoring) | Your session outline should be a practice adapted to the needs of that client, including:
Tools from each module should be used (not on each client – but overall) |
| Session Date | 08/16/2024 |
| Session Number | 8 |
| Total Session Minutes | 120 |
| Homework assignment to client/group | This is the last session for the case study. The client will continue with home practice (meditation, breathing and asana) and use tools that she learned to cope with pain and stress. |
| Activities | The client has arthritis of the right hip and osteoporosis of the femoral necks. |
| Client/Group progress summary | Assessment scores indicate that the client is doing better. Her PEG score decreases from 5 in session 1 to 1.6 in session 8. Interestingly, the pain score stays the same (3 out for 10), but the scores for the questions on how pain has interfered with her enjoyment of life and activity reduce from 5/7 to 1. The scores for Global Health and Arthritis self-efficacy scale have improved slightly (from 3.65 to 3.9 and 7 to 7.2). Her physical strength and mobility also have increased. The client feels confident that she has tools to manage the pain and stress. |
| Reflection and self-evaluation | I noticed significant improvement in the client’s mental and emotional health as well as arthritis pain (she reported no severe pain during the past few weeks). I feel that empowering the client to manage arthritis pain and now stress related to taking care of her aging mother-in-law is the most important aspect. |
| Final Client/Group Report | After seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake) Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report. |
| Plan for next session | This is the last session for the case study. The client will join the group class. |
