| Homework assignment to client/group | Kirtan kriya. Journal using prompt: What are some positive responses that you might bring to mind when these negative thoughts arise? |
| Activities | Check-in, center, ground. Awareness practice. Spinal movements, standing. Cow/cat, lateral bends, twist. Sun breaths. Dynamic down dog to plank at the wall. Warrior I with single arm lifting/lowering, incorporating affirmation repetition. Used 1” brick under shorter leg and stood next to wall for support. Full diaphragmatic breathing, extended exhale. Guided relaxation ending in resting on a pink cloud of yoga. Recap. |
| Client/Group progress summary | The client had spent the weekend with friend’s in the Poconos, relaxing and spending time in nature. While there, she realized her pain had gone away. The client is open and receptive to focusing on positivity in various aspects of her yoga practice. |
| Reflection and self-evaluation | The client reported feeling zero/no pain. Fatigue level, 6-7. That is a huge development for her. Client’s vertigo was more pronounced. She was fatigued, falling asleep at the end of the awareness practice and during guided relaxation. Her mind is full of negative self-talk. One phrase she shared with me about four times during our time together, “No brain,” describing herself. The asana with affirmation was well received. The client liked the way the words resonated in her body. Incorporate some check-in during the asana portion of the session. |
| Final Client/Group Report | After seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake) Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report. |
| Plan for next session | Include more invigorating breath practices to help client wake-up at the beginning of the session. Introduce spoon theory, balancing effort and ease, and concept of illusion~Is it true? Continue to reinforce pratipaksha bhavana. Counter the words “No brain.” with a positive phrase, maybe “Big Brain.” Possibly Taking in the Good practice from Rick Hanson. Give client the personalized guided imagery questionnaire to complete before we resume our sessions after a two week break. |
