Activities

Check-in, share, ground. Spinal movements in all six directions. A-U-M repetition, separate and blended together. Cross lateral arm movements. 3 Dao’s breath. Standing using chair to stabilize: tadasana, cross crawl, opposite heel and arm raises, dynamic down dog to plank and back, Ha breath kriya, toe taps. Alternate nostril breathing. Guided relaxation with imagery tailored to the group based on responses from each individual in the group. Reflection and discussion of offering another yoga for PD series in the fall.

Client/Group progress summary

Clients’ movements are are more fluid, easeful and rhythmic. They are all able to rest more readily and more fully during guided relaxation. Standing balance continues to be a signigicant challenge for two of four in the group. Even so, shifting weight across the feet and toes, from one foot to another, initiating step and landing foot with greater stability is apparent. Breath is fuller and more easeful. Linking breath to movement has become more natural in general.

Reflection and self-evaluation

Group members were open in discussion, supportive and compassionate toward each other. They are interested in all aspects of yoga introduced. Each person shared that the personalized guided relaxation with imagery was extremely relaxing, bringing tender memories of times shared with loved ones and times in awe of nature.

Grateful for the opportunity to share yoga with this group. Think the individuals gained a new understanding of what yoga encompasses, both intellectually and experientially.

Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.
Plan for next session

No further sessions with this group planned.
May offer another yoga for PD series. If so, would include spoon theory related to Ayurveda, more breathwork, mantra, and mudras.
