Activities

Assessment
We reviewed her history from the intake.
She has cerebellar Ataxia that has made itself know in last 2 years.
Primary symptoms Brain fog
Coordination and balance issues upper and lower limbs
Speech (she has a speech therapist)
Dizziness bothers her the most because at times she can’t shake it. Unknown triggers.
She feels her back is good, no pain or issues.

Her energy is good, can wane in the evening. She had a regimented sleep wake cycle until this year 5am wake and sleep at 10 pm. Now she sleeps later and stays up later. I asked if this was a problem and she said she didn’t know.

Emotionally she experiences moments of depression, she is accustomed to this and feels normal. Currently she is processing through triggers that are bringing up what she believes are repressed memories.
** will look for ideas to approach this with philosophy.
Her best qualities patience, positivity and empathy. She derives peace from nature, family and friends.
We sat in chair and did basic cervical movements and eye exercises.
She did fine with the movement of neck however the eye exercises, which I slowed down did lead to some dizziness.

Client/Group progress summary

First time
Her dizziness was triggered by eye movements, She enjoyed the rest and is looking forward to next session.

Reflection and self-evaluation

I don't often do eye movements and this was interesting.
I'm interested in working with chair yoga.

Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.
