Offered a little Raja - talking again about sutra 1.2, and an overview of the mental modifications, and how they can be painful or painless.

Netra Vyayamam

Joint activation practices for the head and neck, shoulders, 6MOS

Heart coherence breathing

Shavasana

Client/Group progress summary

Freddy - Very rajasic - had much to say, and even said he feels he "has to get it all out before he runs out of time." Was having a difficult time regulating his emotions. At check in also stated he "didn't feel like a lot of movement today," yet I still wanted to encourage him to get into his body and out of his thoughts. He would connect with a practice - like grounding in the chair - then ask a question. But before I could respond, he would move onto another thought, for example: "I'd like to become a yoga teacher." I felt the majority of practice was me encouraging him to be present with sensations in his body and observe the breath. He did find the most quiet during heart coherence breathing. He closed his eyes and seemed to find some ease and peace for a few minutes in Shavasana, but did open his eyes and start talking before the practice was over.

Reflection and self-evaluation

I stayed very present and grounded with him, over and over encouraging him to pay attention to what he was feeling in his body, and to shift his awareness to his breath. I offered what I felt was most simple and accessible for him, and did so without expectation and trying to honor ahimsa.

Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.
Plan for next session

I would still like to include this session, but I will do an additional session for the case study, with the hopes of having at least 3 participants next week.
