Homework assignment to client/group

Continue morning "peace is in me"
Add standing or seated asana to work day periodically each day.
Use breath awareness meditation before bed.
Use body scan to help fall asleep or help with nighttime wakefulness.
Read emailed handouts on 4 locks/keys, and pratipaksha bhavana.

Activities

Reviewed client's practice of "peace is in me" meditation.
Asana: prone, all-fours, and supine to address core strength plus stretching for hips and torso. Taught a brief standing and seated routine the client can do at work to break up the physical/mental stress of sitting all day in front of a computer.
Pranayama/meditation: breath awareness, body scan

Client/Group progress summary

Client arrived very tired and stressed - and apologetic about this. She recognizes the need to set boundaries to protect herself from relentless demands from work, family, etc. She said she enjoyed the simple meditation practices and could see their usefulness. She was amazed by the calmness she felt by the end of our session.

Reflection and self-evaluation

I'm enjoying working with this client because she is so ripe for these teachings of yoga - and she has no real understanding of the power of yoga for stress management. She is beginning to see all the little things she can do each day to regulate her nervous system (we talked about this today). I believe she can make good progress even with a few sessions of yoga therapy.

Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.
