| Total Session Minutes | 105 |
| Homework assignment to client/group | Read about and try Rick Hanson’s “Take in the Good” practice to counter negativity, complete the personalized guided imagery questionnaire, continue to practice Kirtan Kriya meditation guided by a recording. |
| Activities | Check-in, centering, reassess and revise client’s goals. Talked about cultivating positivity in her life. Standing warm-up, chair at the wall with chin tucks to counter forward head posture, dynamic down dog to plank and back repetitions, sphinx, cobra/seal PT movements, supine awareness practice with reference to the Gunas, selected affirmation card, Ha breath, seated Kirtan Kriya (6 minute version,) journaling with prompt: Think of a recent situation what was disturbing for you. Can you identify an attachment that gave rise to the problem? Clarified for client by example and talking about the kleshas, with emphasis on attachment and aversion. Worked through an example from the client’s recent experience this week. Closing, home practice reminder. |
| Client/Group progress summary | Pain level=0, Fatigue level=5. Client self assessed that she has a high pain tolerance. Significant reduction in pain since first session. Second week that the client reported no pain, yet she did have some discomfort in her low back. She is becoming more efficient with her time in accomplishing tasks in her new job. Shifting from primary focus on relieving back pain to countering negativity and physical practices around balance, strengthening and lengthening, maintaining meditation practice. |
| Reflection and self-evaluation | Pleased with integrating yoga philosophy as client engaged in various movements and the awareness practice. Client is ready and willing to continue sessions, and home practices. |
| Final Client/Group Report | After seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake) Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report. |
| Plan for next session | Similar to today's practice. Reinforce concept of aversion and attachment, and gunas. |
