| Final Client/Group Report | After seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake) Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report. |

| Adjustments and adaptations you made to your care plan, | In session 2 I added Vriksasana when the client indicated she wanted to practice it. While I had mentioned Pratipaksha Bhavana in the Care Plan, I had not introduced it going into the final session - and didn't have it in my session plan; however when she mentioned her critical thoughts, I added it to the session. |
| Client/Group Goals | Client felt that pranayama practices in particular offered alternatives to her use of caffeine and sugar. Client also observed the connection between allowing the physical movements of asana to influence movement of her thoughts and emotions in ways that will allow her to see herself with more compassion and love. |
| Report briefly on each Kosha below | Progress toward wellness or worsening reported by the client/group or that you observed in the following areas |
| Physical level | Client felt the slower practice of Surya Namaskar allowed her to feel the challenge to her strength, stability and stamina. Taking time to breathe in each asana, and coordinating her breath with her movement allowed her to feel how the energy of her breath provided the power of her practice. She also experienced balance in new ways - seeing the connection of balance through all her koshas - as she explored Ardha Chandrasana and Vriksasana. |
| Energetic level | Client felt more energized with brahmari breath and nadi shodhana, sharing feedback such as it felt like "my lungs did push ups" and she was "filled with oxygen." She also noted after slowing down Surya Namaskar and focusing on breathing in and through each asana, that the breath provided her with the energy to experience the muscular effort and stamina of the practice. |
| Emotional | Pratipaksha Bhavana gave her a tool to be able to step back and witness her thoughts, especially thoughts she described as "self-harming." Brahmari breath allowed her to connect with the vibrations and flow of her environment in ways that allowed her to feel connected instead of increasing anxiety. |
| Intellectual / Sense of self | The client's practice of Tikkun and her devotion to Kabbalah has given her an awareness of her Vijnanamaya kosha, and she is committed to continuing this journey. |
| Spiritual orientation and support plan | Client's deep connection with Kabbalah gives her spiritual direction, and she enjoyed seeing the connections with Bhakti and Karma yoga. |
| Additional Information | |
| Feedback received from client/group, anecdotal or written | I did mention some of the client's ongoing feedback in responses above, but overall client was excited to continue our sessions and add these tools of yoga to her self-care toolbox. |
| Sample of homework given between sessions (after initial homework) | From Session 1: Surya Namaskar at the wall Bitilasana and Marjaryasana - using the green band, keeping the focus on sukkha/ease as you move with the breath Virabhadrasana II - at the wall with a block between the wall and the shin Ardha Chandrasana at the wall - maybe explore this as an alternative to the 3p coffee with sugar? Gentle Kapalabati - try it at different times in different contexts. Maybe explore this as well as an alternative to the 3p coffee with sugar? Dirga Swasam with finger compressions |
| Personal reflection from doing client/group. | |
| Rough estimate of time spent in preparation and follow up documentation per session | 20 |
| What you would change with benefit of hindsight | Honestly I wouldn't change anything. I'm sure there are other tools I could have offered, but I felt that each session provided her with practices that were appropriate for her. |
| Questions, problems, areas in which you’d like more support | Nothing is coming to mind, but I always appreciate your thoughts and feedback! |
| Did you enjoy your service? | I loved working with Karen, and look forward to continuing our relationship, both as her being a student in my weekly classes as well as future yoga therapy sessions. |
