Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.

Adjustments and adaptations you made to your care plan,

The client went out of town a few times as we worked together, so I found that I had to be prepared for her to have regressed due to an inability to remain on her schedule while away.

Client/Group Goals

Client states she wants education and accountability for keeping her body/breath/mind healthy. Physically, she wants to be challenged in safe ways to improve strength and flexibility (“how to push safely”). Client has learned how to listen to her own body and maintain boundaries with her husband and friends who try to push her, try to make her do the kinds of exercises that work for THEM.

Report briefly on each Kosha belowProgress toward wellness or worsening reported by the client/group or that you observed in the following areas
Physical level

Client commented that she no longer has knee pain; her legs feel much stronger; she is able to walk, hike, and climb stairs for longer periods of time without pain.

Energetic level

Client was amazed by the effectiveness of breathing practices such as brahmari and alternate nostril. She now uses these practices every day as a way to manage stress by resetting her nervous system.

Emotional

Client states she feels more balanced emotionally due to our deep conversation and due to using mantra meditation every day.

Intellectual / Sense of self

Client is still lacking in this area since she cannot find the time to read/study topics for her own benefit and growth. She has a doctorate in child psychology and manages a homeschooling co-op, but she had trouble making time to read even short handouts I gave her on the koshas and on raja yoga. We did two session where I pulled up slides (since we were working virtually) on these topics. She was able to engage well in the discussions on those sessions.

Spiritual orientation and support plan

For the first time in many years, the client is exploring the interconnection between her Christian and Sikh upbringing. There are elements she loves of both, but she has never tried deliberately integrating them for herself due to the stigma she finds in Christian circles. She is now using Sikh prayers and chants more regularly and intends to keep exploring this topic.

Additional Information
Feedback received from client/group, anecdotal or written

Client stated she always looked forward to our time together because she felt I truly listened to her and kept her best interests at heart. She loved how yoga therapy addressed all the topics that mattered most to her, especially physical activity, stress management, and support for daily living.
