Client/Group progress summary

The client is recovering well from the treatment. Global health assessment scores are good: physical and mental health are very good and there are no limitations on carrying on his social activities. I do not observe any physical difficulty or sign of fatigue during asana practice. The result of his recent scan showed inconclusive result; the cancer is not completely inactive. The next checkup is 2 months from now. When asked about how he felt about this result, he said that it took him sometimes to process and do mental check. He feels like he is stuck in a loop that cannot be closed. This is when I taught praktipaksha Bhavana; replacing the negative thought that he is stuck in a loop with he is healthy now.

Reflection and self-evaluation

I prepared to use MSFSI short form for assessment. But after the client mentioned that fatigue is not an issue anymore, I felt that the MSFSI form was not as useful as if I were to assess the client while he was to receive chemotherapy. Therefore, I switched to Global health assessment instead. I also prepared a chair yoga session for him. However, after the check-in, I could see that he did not need the support of the chair. Overall, the client is in good health per my observation during asana practice. I have learned to adjust my plan and to meet clients where they are.

Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.
Plan for next session

I will continue with connecting movement with breath. I will add dynamic movements and flows to the asana portion. For pranayama, I will teach kapalabhati followed by alternate nostril. I will explain the ethical precept of yoga (Yama and Niyama).
