Client/Group progress summary

I talked to her psychologist and she said she can see improvement in Carol. She used to bite her nails because of anxiety, and now her nails are not as bitten as before.
She agrees CM tries to avoid the image of stress because she is already charged with it, as she did during the exercise the week before. So I can work on aversion/attachment concepts with her in later sessions.
Her psychologist works with CFT (compassion-focused therapy) (https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/therapy-types/compassion-focused-therapy)
and Cognitive behavioral therapy, which is very appropriate for GAD.
She was in the Yoga for Relieving Anxiety group and had the DASS-21 assessment
https://maic.qld.gov.au/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/DASS-21.pdf
I will send the DASS-21 text to her during her exams this week to check how she deals with stress.
She said that her concentration was better today at the centering at the beginning of the session. During her weeks she feels that she is exploding less, less aggressive.
She didn’t practice the kirtan kriya because she was embarrassed to do it in the subway, but she practiced breath awareness and 3-part breath. She didn’t practice affirmations. She is embarrassed to stick her affirmation on her restroom mirror as other people can see it. So I suggested she stick it inside her closet.

Reflection and self-evaluation

Her therapist said I need to work one concept at a time with CM. Maybe it is because she can be overwhelmed easily. So I decided to work 1 lock and 1 key each session. I am learning that the same concept needs to be worked through different approaches and times with different clients.

Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.
