Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.

Adjustments and adaptations you made to your care plan,

Adjustments and adaptations for client's care plan were made to accommodate his energy levels, which varied from session to session. In addition, I adapted the Raja portion of his plan to a more Universal approach, as client was clearly Agnostic.

Client/Group Goals

Client has made notable improvement with his physical stamina. He's currently part of a Long-Covid research study as UCSF, where he's found tremendous support with regaining his overall health and returning to normal daily activities. He's also learning about the nuances of his energy and fatigue - that is, physical ability and daily fatigue vs. Covid-induced limitations.
His resolve, or Santosha, is admirable. He's aware of his current state, which varies daily, he chooses to continue on this path to recovery in spite of challenges, setbacks, etc. - strong Sankalpa.
Client goals' were to 're-establish daily yoga practice in order to rebuild physical stamina and muscle tone'. In the 4 months we've worked together, he's made notable progress to achieving his objectives. We've expanded his Asana practice considerably and he's made obvious progress with strengthening of his body as well as his awareness of his body through Yoga Nidra and energetic being with breathing practices.

Report briefly on each Kosha belowProgress toward wellness or worsening reported by the client/group or that you observed in the following areas
Physical level

Client's progress toward regaining physical stamina was steady and encouraging. While the Long-Covid symptoms remain, he's getting stronger and more discerning about appropriate level of effort during each day. He's also becoming increasingly aware of what his body's daily capabilities are. We talked repeatedly about Santosha. I also brought up the nuance of 'just enough' for today. We discussed our culture's predilection for pushing. We talked about being with what is in the moment - Upeksha.

Energetic level

Energy levels are better. He's feeling stronger and more hopeful as he finds he has the energy to get out and enjoy himself more.

Emotional

While client remains seemingly deadpan or reticent, he's become more open and cordial when sharing about his current experience.

Intellectual / Sense of self

Client has a good sense of self, albeit superficial and a bit cagey. His persistence, resolve and pragmatic approach are admirable.

Spiritual orientation and support plan

Client is agnostic. He has a clear sense of his values, being kind to others, etc. He appreciated the pragmatic value of the various Yamas, Niyamas and Yogic teachings we discussed. Has no interest in connecting with any greater or Universal source or power.

Additional Information
Feedback received from client/group, anecdotal or written

Client has expressed gratitude throughout our time together. He's been forthcoming about what he's doing in between sessions.

Personal reflection from doing client/group.
Rough estimate of time spent in preparation and follow up documentation per sessionover 60 minutes first few sessions, then 30 to 60 later.
What you would change with benefit of hindsight

I don't know that I'd do much differently. My goal is to meet each client where they're at with respect, openness and awareness. While I may have a vision for their potential with these practices, it's not for me to prod them along. To me, it's more effective and appropriate to let them be where they're at and trust them with their path while encouraging them along the way.

Questions, problems, areas in which you’d like more support

None come to mind right now.

Did you enjoy your service?

Yes! I certainly enjoyed working with this client. His persistence and commitment to showing up has been inspiring and enjoyable.
