• Check in
• Yogic wisdoms (four locks and four keys, ahimsa, non-attachment and mindfulness) and discuss Fixing, Helping and Serving article
o Four locks and four keys: compassion to her friend
o Ahimsa: non-harming to self
o Non-attachment: not attach to the outcome of her actions
o Mindfulness: being at a present moment (not in the past or future)
• Restorative yoga: resting butterfly, resting half-moon, forward resting butterfly, supine twist, and savasana
• Alternate nostril breathing
• Loving kindness meditation

Client/Group progress summary

The client felt that she is a better place mentally than last week. She makes an intention to breathe and meditate before bed; that helps her to sleep better. She thinks that the Fixing, Helping and Serving article useful, but at the same time, finding it is hard to put into practice. She is trying to keep the balance between doing what, she thinks, is best and her friend’s autonomy. We discussed the concept of sangha, i.e., having a team who supports my client to empower her friend to make her own decision.

Reflection and self-evaluation

During the restorative yoga, I guided the client through koshas. I used a metaphor of pealing an onion which was effective. The client said that she liked it and was able to visualize pealing each layer and connect with the true self at the center.

Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.
Plan for next session

I will continue to bring yogic wisdom to the session; the choice of teaching will depend on where the client is mentally and the topic of our discussion. The asanas will focus on the root (grounding), heart (compassion) and throat (communication) chakras. Grounding pranayama such as Brahmari will be included.
