Activities

I began today's session by asking Mack how he was feeling and if he had noticed any physical or mental changes or challenges since our last meeting.
He reported that his cough had finally improved after his COVID-19 infection and the X-ray showed no issue. He also reported his energy level was low and was stressful, his stress was due to his retirement agreement which he was not satisfied with the proposal. Despite the stress and low energy level, he said he continued his practice as much as he could, including balancing and heel-drop exercise, and gentle stretching in bed before getting up in the morning.
Then I led a few minutes of guided meditation. Today’s physical practice includes balancing, neck-shoulder stretch, joint freeing, and heel-to-toe walking
To end the session, Yoga nidra and alternate nostro breathing helped him relax his physical body and mind.

Client/Group progress summary

Despite his challenging week, his daily practice was continued and he maintained his balance 25sec/R, 14sec/L same as the previous week.

Reflection and self-evaluation

It was not an easy session today with Mack, he mentioned his retirement and I had no idea how much he was able to work remotely and involved with his conditions. I understood formal retirement from his profession starts the next phase of his life but I sensed his sadness toward to new life when he mentioned his physical limitations, he has challenges typing and using voice-to-text tools.

Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.
Plan for next session

I will continue to follow this care plan for the next several sessions to improve his balancing and strengthening muscles.
