Homework assignment to client/group

ASANAS - 2 - 3x per week, as noted above

PRANAYAMA - 3-Part Breath - 2 - 3 x per week. Practice as well when unable to sleep. Repeat, "I'm resting, I'm resting" to counter any racing thoughts about not getting enough sleep...

LIFESTYLE PRACTICE - Self-Appreciate & Self-Acknowledgement of what she's accomplished, done well, etc. Take time 2 - 3 x week to reflect about this.

Activities

ASANAS -
Hatha Series w/ breath awareness – Cat/Cow | Child’s Pose for inner awareness and breath connection | Seated Side Twists, Seated Side Stretches, Down Dog to Standing Forward Fold to Mountain. Hip Openers: Bound Angle Pose | Butterfly | Pigeon

PRANAYAMA - 3-Part Breath - one hand on belly and the other on the heart to connect with the body with inhales and exhales. Discussed activating the PNS by learning to extend inhales and exhales. When stressed, take a pause and breathe.

YOGA NIDRA - for deep relaxation, breath and body awareness.

Client/Group progress summary

Good effort today. Client is eager and open to try new things. Was good to emphasize coordinating movement with breath to help her slow down and breathe into every shape. She was also open about what wasn't working - namely lifestyle practice - felt a lot of resistance around this.

Reflection and self-evaluation

All in all, I think the session went well. We have a good report and I'm practicing active listening. I wonder if I may have been checking in too much throughout our session, yet at times I sensed she was reticent or hesitating during the Asanas and Pranayama segments. Will be more mindful of this going forward.

Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.
Plan for next session

Plan for next session is more of the same. I want her to get a good sense of all that we've practiced so that she can integrate these practices into her daily life. Regarding Asanas, I'll introduce some balancing postures - Tree and Bird-Dog.
