| Final Client/Group Report | After seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake) Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report. |

| Adjustments and adaptations you made to your care plan, | To start, I focused on yogic practices to activate her PNS for sleep. She obviously wanted fast, energizing yoga. I complied w/ modifications cueing her to slow down to fully experience each movement w/ the breath, while listening to her body. I let go of Restorative Asanas, replaced w/ Yoga Nidra for body & breath awareness, etc. |
| Client/Group Goals | NM is most demanding of herself w/ little acknowledgement & appreciation for all she does. I encouraged her to practice Santosha during her day. I do think she made some progress w/ this. |
| Report briefly on each Kosha below | Progress toward wellness or worsening reported by the client/group or that you observed in the following areas |
| Physical level | NM experienced an increasing awareness of her physical well-being and the impact caused by chronic stress and related conditions. Her dedication to self-care and being her best was inspiring - never complained. She was willing to try any posture or practice that I recommended. Was always decisive and clear about what was working and what wasn't. |
| Energetic level | NM's energy expanded from muscling through each day to being more at ease and present. From showing up basically meaning getting through each day, she became more relaxed and authentic. |
| Emotional | During our time together, N seemed to relax and enjoy what she was doing for herself. She has a lot of people who rely upon her. It was obvious she started to see the importance of balance for her own needs so that she could show up for others. We discussed self-appreciation and and self-acknowledgement throughout our time together. While she didn't fully embrace this practice, I believe she started to understand its importance. |
| Intellectual / Sense of self | I think N started to open up to her ego and need to take care of everything and everyone as a sort of a SuperWoman. I trust she started to look at how she doesn't need to take care of everything and everyone at her own expense. I also trust she learned she doesn't have to override her own needs / well-being for the sake of those around her. |
| Spiritual orientation and support plan | Client never expressed much of an interest in Spiritual practices or awareness. We touched on this several times throughout our time together, yet she never expressed an interest in discussing further. She did appreciate our discussion of various Yogic teachings, including Santosha, Pratipaksha Bhavana and Upeksha. |
| Additional Information | |
| Feedback received from client/group, anecdotal or written | NM was always appreciative and especially enjoyed the work we did to strengthen her piriformis as well as Yoga Nidra. She also found some of the questions and insights I shared with her regarding her inflammation and piriformis to be helpful as she discussed her experience / condition with her massage therapist and endocrinologist. |
| Sample of homework given between sessions (after initial homework) | So good to connect with you yesterday. I do hope you got some helpful insight and next steps during your doctor’s appointment today. Here’s a quick recap from yesterday’s session. I know you’re going through a lot right now, so I hope you will be gentle, gentle with you right now. You will get through this! 🤗 |
| Personal reflection from doing client/group. | |
| Rough estimate of time spent in preparation and follow up documentation per session | 60 minutes |
| What you would change with benefit of hindsight | I would have gently encouraged her to pursue more of a discussion around Spirituality, what that meant for her and how it might support her on her journey. I hesitated to do so - didn't want to come across as proselytizing. |
| Questions, problems, areas in which you’d like more support | I'd like to discuss how to gently explore with a client where I think they might be holding back. I sensed at times N was showing up in people-pleasing mode, as one more thing to do to get through her day and someday learn to be her best self. I'd like to help clients connect with their sovereignty and claim why they keep showing up with intention and commitment knowing whatever is showing up is OK. |
| Did you enjoy your service? | Yes! I enjoyed my service and believe NM found benefit and support in our time together. I must, must remember to let go of my Ms. Fix-it mode and trust that clients are right where they're supposed to be. My role is to show up to the best of my ability and meet them where they're at - trusting that's enough. |
