Client/Group progress summary

Client presented more sattvic and in good spirits. Shared she had taken the day off to attend her husband's naturalization ceremony, and with her son being very active had only been able to watch the moment of her husband walking across the stage. Over the weekend she had enjoyed an outing with friends to a local theme park.

Client shared that due to many scheduled events she had not been able to practice as frequently as she liked, but was looking forward to moving this session. I shared that my goal for this session was for her to feel that she had several asana and pranayama practices that she could use, as well as her meditation practice. Based on how she was feeling we began with Surya Namaskar, which she performed slowly and mindfully, spending time in each asana as well as the transitions between, and she chose to complete four rounds. Next we explored some standing strength, followed by standing balance before shifting to several asana more geared to hip opening. We also explored twists and folds, exploring various options with each, and allowing her to also explore adding some lateral flexion and gentle rotation to the hip opening postures.

We then spent time reviewing the breath awareness and pranayama practices from our sessions, allowing her to ask questions as needed. She shared that she felt energized yet calm at the end of the practice.

Reflection and self-evaluation

I really enjoyed my time working with Kana. She gave me great feedback, thanking me for holding space for her and teaching her. She asked about continuing our work together, which was very encouraging.

Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.
Plan for next session

She will reach out to me when she would like to meet again in the future. She is also sharing my information with some of her other friends and co-workers who she feels would benefit from yoga therapy.
