Presenting Problemosteopenia
Physical

Petite small framed female woman in her late 50's. Had corrective bunion surgery in her left foot and currently has a bunion in her right foot. Recent right ankle fracture 3/2024. Just finished PT and has been given the clearance from her doctor to start yoga. Had a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery in 2015. I noticed she is starting to have kyphosis in her back.

Client/Group goalsMaintain and gain bone density, flexibility and improve muscle tone
Energetic

Client is very alert, articulate and self aware. She was very talkative about her previous ailments.

Emotional

Her energy was eager to continue with yoga with me. She was originally in my group osteopenia sessions. She has a supportive husband. 2 grown children, 1 currently is a teacher and other is in her last year of college. She has a high stressful job in NYC, which she commutes to 3x a week. Her commute is tiring and although she enjoys the people on her team, she wishes she didn't have staff. It's extra stress with the staff and commute. She has an 90yo mother she has to look after as well.

Spiritual orientation and needs

Her spiritual connection is by running, swimming, biking. When she starts her running, she is with herself and is able to connect with her peace, help calm her and connect with her spiritual self.

Intellectual / Sense of self

She's intelligent, self aware and knowledgeable. She is worried to lose any more bone density and wants to be find some ways to relieve stress. She stated she is looking forward to ways to help her remain calm in times of stress.

Sutra 1.14

Do it every day without break, with all earnest for time so it can be firmly rooted, stable, and solid foundation.

I'll explain that yoga is cumulative. Even when we she's home, she needs to do her exercises daily so it can become a solid foundation.

Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.
