Homework assignment to client/group

Continue with shower meditation with the scrub.
Continue to get down on the flow with her kids and do some cat/cows, down dogs, bird dogs
Continue with pratipaksha bhavana & 4 locks and keys

Activities

Check in: Client stated she was feeling good but her shoulder was a bit tight. Her husband just got back from a business trip. She stated, every time her husband is away, she is able to get the kids down to sleep without a fight and they seem to sleep through the night. She found it/him annoying. I reminded her this is a great place to use of the 4 locks and keys. She's trying to the shower meditation but finds it difficult at times but the scrub is helping keep her present.

I brought up Kintsugi from last week and added pratipaksha bhavana and how it is similar. In pratipaksha bhavana, when we have thoughts of anger, jealousy, negativity, we consciously bring to mind the opposite, positive thoughts such as love, compassion. This can reinforce the positive qualities and weaken the negative thoughts and start to reframe our way of thinking.

Activities: Grounding, stretching, warm up

Deep breathing. On back, feeling the breath, hand on belly and heart. warm up with dynamic side twists-landing into a side twist. Dead bug, moving opposite leg and arm 7x each side. Added a pilates ball between the thighs to gently engage the legs and moving the arms over the ears 7x. bringing the arms around and up 7x.

cat/cow, child’s pose, table top. Mountain pose, with yoga strap, have some tension with the strap and we did some stretching. side bends, forward bends, back bends, twists.

3 legged dog-3 legged plank, Sun A, high lunge, pigeon, W3, shoulder stand, fish pose, restorative bridge pose with block.

restorative shavasana, rolled blanket under knees, blanket under head and neck. tense and release, relaxation of the body parts and yoga nidra.

Client/Group progress summary

Client is a progressing with her strength. She is able to do bird dog with ease, leg lifts 1/2 way down and up with ease. When we first started, she was unable to do bird dog without falling over and leg lifts without bending her knees. Now her knees are straight, she's in control of her body and has built strength and stamina. Her energy seems more relax this session.

Reflection and self-evaluation

Noticed the client has really improved in her strength, flexibility, stability and stamina. Her anxious energy level is going down and she's breathing. Glad so see her hard work working and my ability to help makes me very happy.

Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.
Plan for next session

Strength, flexibility. Continue with pratipaksha bhavana. Adding in chair pose, with heel lifts (love this one)
