Your care plan should be approved by your mentor, with any amendments they suggested, prior to your remaining Yoga Therapy sessions.
Care PlanOutline should be a practice adapted to the needs of that client/group, including:
  • Check in, centering, balanced hatha yoga set considering contraindications, relaxation (with imagery as appropriate),
  • balanced pranayama considering contraindications, meditation/centering.
  • Please include at least one suggestion from Karma, Bhakti, Raja, or Jnana Yoga tailored for this client/group.
  • Over time, we want to see something from each branch, selected, adapted and re-framed appropriately. Tools from each module should be used (not on each client/group – but overall)
The outline should show the sequence of practices as you plan to offer them.

Homework assignment to client/group

Write down a stressful situation that occurred during the week and what was reaction, what changed form when we started.

Also, 3 daily asanas while breathing.

Activities

Centering with body scan and 3 part breath, Concept of when stressful situations happen to let go of resistance and understand there are things we can't control. There are also things we can control, or reactions, our breath and our thoughts.

Asanas- gentle warming neck shoulders and seated cat cow, legs long knees, ankles
pelvic tilts supported bridge, supported open hip then twist. hip rotations in between, 3 forward folds on bolsters legs long, butterfly then wide. Childs pose, then legs on elevated on bolster for savasana, and yoga nidra.

Pranayama- Extended exhalation during class, and at the end breathing into hand on belly and heart

Meditation- Nature is ever changing, this visualization of watching leaves move from green to yellow and red to bare to flowers to green leaves again.

Philosophy is Aparigraha, non attachment, to things we can't control to understanding that life just like nature is ever changing.

This group is doing great and sharing more and more as a community which is benefitting everyone.

Reflection and self-evaluation

This group for this class needs guidance and talk within the lesson, but also need quiet and full relaxation for the restorative poses and reminder of that extended exhalations.

We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn.
