| Client/Group progress summary | The client who had reverse breathing during the first session is doing better and when asked, she said that she felt restful after breathing practice. Balance has also improved. All clients were able to stand on one leg longer than they did during the first session. |
| Reflection and self-evaluation | I introduced Yama to the class and tried to relate each Yama to asana and/or daily life. Ahimsa - listen to the body and not push through the pain; be kind to oneself and others. Satya - be truthful to oneself, not ignore our challenge or push past our limitation. Asteya – Be where we are, otherwise, we will miss most of our life; not stealing ourselves from the experience of being alive (I found this quote from 3 Ways to Practice Asteya (Non-Stealing) on Your Mat (yogainternational.com which I think, is a perfect way to explain it). Brahmacharya - be aware of our energy level and not overexert ourselves during the class; over work or over exertion of mental energy; it is okay to rest when tired. Aparigraha - non-attachment to poses that we were able to be able to do in the past or a thought of looking like a front cover of the Yoga journal; holding on to stuff that we no longer need. |
| Final Client/Group Report | After seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake) Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report. |
| Plan for next session | I will continue to include poses that improve flexibility, strength, and balance. Pranayama will include alternate nostril breathing. I will discuss Niyama in the next session. |
