| Session Date | 09/19/2024 |
| Session Number | 12 |
| Total Session Minutes | 90 |
| Homework assignment to client/group | Kirtan Kriya as part of preparation for work routine. Pratipaksha bhavana/Taking in the Good 2-3 times per day. Up dog PT movements daily. Repeat words of affirmation card before and after up dog sequence. |
| Activities | Long centering, grounding, check-in and seated warm-up. Short time standing. Affirmation and color card selection. Incorporated both in movement and guided relaxation. Discussed effects of lack of sleep, stress, and general lack of self-care. Talked about maintaining a well of wellness. Short guided relaxation as client became nauseous. |
| Client/Group progress summary | Pain=4 in back, fatigue=8-10. Client admitted that inside she felt like a fatigue level of 10. Client was extremely fatigued, depleted on all levels. She had slept poorly over the last three nights, worked two 9 hour days at Target (standing and walking,) had not eaten in two days. She decided that she could no longer stay at this job. It was causing her too much harm. She planned to resign. |
| Reflection and self-evaluation | Hopefully a lesson will be learned by coming to such extreme depletion and the door will be opened to deeper work together if the client is more rested and nourished physically. Will hold off on WHO questionnaire until future session, after client recovers. |
| Final Client/Group Report | After seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake) Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report. |
| Plan for next session | Gunas self-evaluation, Kriya yoga: tapas, svadyaya & Ishvara pranidhana, Kirtan Kriya in-person with recording, journal prompt-What am I actively working to shift to the positive? How would it feel to be free of the attachment or aversion to this pattern? Incorporate affirmation in asana and yoga nidra. Follow-up on 9/20/2024. Client gave her resignation notice at Target. HR was understanding of her health concerns. Via email, she expressed to me that she was relieved and felt like a failure. I celebrated her prioritizing her well-being. She now has one part-time job, more free time, and less financial stability. |
