Approval Notice
Your care plan should be approved by your mentor, with any amendments they suggested, prior to your remaining Yoga Therapy sessions.
Care PlanOutline should be a practice adapted to the needs of that client/group, including:
  • Check in, centering, balanced hatha yoga set considering contraindications, relaxation (with imagery as appropriate),
  • balanced pranayama considering contraindications, meditation/centering.
  • Please include at least one suggestion from Karma, Bhakti, Raja, or Jnana Yoga tailored for this client/group.
  • Over time, we want to see something from each branch, selected, adapted and re-framed appropriately. Tools from each module should be used (not on each client/group – but overall)
The outline should show the sequence of practices as you plan to offer them.

Continue with shower meditation with the scrub.
Continue to get down on the flow with her kids and do some cat/cows, down dogs, bird dogs

Activities

Check in: Client stated she was feeling ok, shoulder and back are better. Kids are getting sick because of back to school which has been keeping her up. Her youngest daughter started preschool. She said her 2 girls are so different. The older one needs coddeling and the younger daughter just takes off. She is getting on the floor a few times a week to practice & do yoga with her kids. She's still trying with the shower meditation but finds it difficult at times.

I encouraged to keep up with pratipaksha bhavana. Keep reinforce the positive qualities and weaken the negative thoughts and start to reframe our way of thinking.

Activities: Grounding, stretching, warm up

Continued with Deep breathing from last week. On back, feeling the breath, hand on belly and heart. warm up with dynamic side twists-landing into a side twist. Dead bug, moving opposite leg and arm 7x each side. Added a pilates ball between the thighs to gently engage the legs and moving the arms over the ears 7x. bringing the arms around and up 7x. Added a light resistance exercise band in dead bug on feet and had her push the leg straight and then switching and then both legs (strength in legs)

same as last week bu this time added the light resistance exercise band. cat/cow, child’s pose, table top. Mountain pose, with light resistance , have some tension with the strap and we did some stretching. side bends, forward bends, back bends, twists.

Childs pose, table top, cat cow, thread the needle, melting heart with blocks. DD - plank - cobra flow. Sun A variation with high lunge, high lunge twist, fierce pose, W3. Flowed 8x. each time adding on to the previous. ie. high lunge first time, then high lunge and adding twist, high lunge, twist, fierce pose etc.

Cool down on back: rolling side to side, supine twist, supine pigeon, happy baby,

restorative shavasana, rolled blanket under knees, blanket under head and neck. tense and release, relaxation of the body parts and yoga nidra.

Client/Group progress summary

Don't see a noticeable change from last week. Added a light resistance exercise band to continue with her strength.

Reflection and self-evaluation

No noticeable change from last week with client. Saw client early in the morning, I was tired and I was not giving my client my full energy. Didn't add the chair from last week. will add next week.

Plan for next session

Strength, flexibility. Continue with pratipaksha bhavana. Adding in chair pose, with heel lifts (love this one)
